I never  thought I would be arrested for a serious crime?
What do I do now?

Harvey Silverglate wrote in “Three Felonies A Day” that the average American commits at least three felonies a day.  We live in a world where the tax and banking laws have become so complex that any every day citizen can easily commit a crime without even knowing it.

And then there are those who travel to Mexico and become unwitting drug smugglers when the drugs are planted in their care by magnetic devices, in the spare tire and in a myriad of different ways.

Most people have no idea how much money quality legal representation costs.  Prosecutors spend hundreds of thousands of dollars going after even the must minor defendant.  Many people plead guilty or are convicted because they don’t have enough money to hire competent legal counsel.

So to help this problem I have formed Border Justice Attorneys, a small cadre of the best legal defenders who live in this border area and who are experts at fighting unjust criminal charges.  There is no overhead in our group.  It works as follows:   when a person who cannot afford an attorney is charged with a criminal offense, the case is carefully screened to insure true economic need and also that the prosecution is unjust .  Then the case is matched with an attorney who agrees to work the case at a reduced rate and from money coming from the “justice fund” made up purely of donations of individuals who have experienced the criminal injustice system in their lives.

If you are lucky enough to have escaped the wheels of injustice and in an economic situation to do so, donate today to the justice fund.  You will help a deserving individual have a fighting chance against the criminal justice or “injustice system.”
